Science saves lives: Research is key
At CCHF, we’re big on science. Science pushes innovation, and innovation creates new discoveries and treatments for sick kids. Science and research save lives.
Our children hospitals take great pride in their research programs, and push the boundaries of paediatric health every day, developing new treatments and finding new diagnoses to change the health of Canada. Sometimes, this research isn’t glamorous, but it will change lives.
For example, McMaster Children’s Hospital, who’s paediatric research department is affiliated with McMaster University, recently launched the Pedi FETCh Research Trial (Paediatric Fecal Transplant for Ulcerative Colitis).
This is the first paediatric fecal transplant study for inflammatory bowel disease in Canada, and will be the first randomized controlled trial of fecal transplant in paediatric inflammatory bowel disease in the world.
We’re proud to support research and innovation programs across the country. In fact, 29% of all donations raised by our programs are allocated to research so our hospitals can continue doing incredible things for kid’s health.
When you support your local children’s hospital, you are directly supporting Canadian scientists, researchers and other clinical professionals to make epic strides towards a healthier country.
