Meet the Leadership Team Behind the Mission for Kids’ Health

Adam Starkman is a passionate advocate for children’s health. Having spent more than 18 years at SickKids Foundation in Toronto, he has seen first-hand the amazing work that happens at children’s hospitals, and the key role that philanthropy plays in enabling research, innovation, and family centered care.

Adam joined Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations in May 2023 as President & CEO but has a long-standing connection with the organization. From 2016 to 2017, Adam worked in partnership with the 13 Member Foundation CEOs to design the organizational structure and governance model that established CCHF as a key fundraising partner.

His leadership and strong relationships with Member Foundations are crucial for driving CCHF’s success. As a strategic leader, Adam emphasizes innovation and utilizes his corporate partnerships experience and education in Design Thinking to explore creative solutions. Adam has developed and used tools, resources and methods that allow teams to think creatively together and bring forward innovative solutions to benefit the organization and its partners.

Adam acts in a way that creates a positive culture and empowers those around him to achieve increasingly high standards. He can be counted on to deliver what and when he says he will, and he has built high-performing teams that live our aspirational culture and deliver on our shared goals.

Alison is a seasoned executive and nonprofit strategist with over 20 years of leadership experience spanning fundraising, nonprofit management, innovation, and public sector consulting. She has worked with some of Canada’s most recognized and successful nonprofit organizations, driving impact through high-performing, healthy teams and transformational strategies.

A people-first leader, Alison is passionate about building strong, resilient teams and fostering organizational cultures where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. She takes a practical, results-driven approach to leadership—balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution to drive meaningful and measurable outcomes. Her leadership in fundraising, communications, and operations at organizations such as Tim Horton Foundation Camps, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and SickKids reflects her deep commitment to improving the well-being of children.

Alison is no stranger to Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (CCHF), having spent a decade (2007–2017) with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, where she played a pivotal role in fundraising strategy and partnership development to support children’s healthcare across Canada.

As an experienced consultant and Certified Leadership Coach™, Alison has guided nonprofit leaders and teams to be more effective, confident, and successful. She delivers strategic insights, real-world solutions, and personalized coaching to help organizations navigate challenges, build capacity, and achieve lasting success. By fostering collaboration, trust, and innovation, Alison strengthens teams and drives impact—always with a focus on people at the heart of every solution.

Zull Chaggan is an Executive with over a decade of successful stewardship experience in C-suite roles. He is a strategic-minded and a results-driven professional with an impressive, fast-tracked management career culminating into Executive leadership roles.

Zull has experience in driving the evolution of organizational mission and values, resource development, operational controls, fiscal management, administration, information technology, working with Board of Directors, Committees, and external stakeholders.

His previous professional Chief Financial Officer engagements have been with Canada’s largest specialized agency servicing autism, Canada’s largest national community-based service provider specializing in physical disability and East Toronto’s largest social service agency with a housing subsidiary delivering children care, employment assisted living and subsidized housing services.
