Fighting for kids to reach their full potential
Our mission is to inspire and mobilize the community to support relentless innovation in research, teaching and care at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, an internationally-renowned paediatric center affiliated with the McGill University Health Centre providing highly-specialized healthcare, and paediatric research at the Research Institute of the MUHC.
The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation’s vision is to transform care so that every sick child has the opportunity to reach their full potential to the best of their ability.
Treating the sickest children
We’re a tertiary and quaternary care centre offering highly-specialized care to Quebec’s sickest children aged 0 to 18. Our state-of-the-art facilities are among the best in North America designed to meet kids’ specific needs.
Investing in equipment
During the 2017-2018 fiscal year, our generous donors helped us purchase equipment that will transform young lives, such as a functional MRI to help neurosurgeons better understand the intricate workings of a child’s brain; an ultrasound and electromyography machine for otolaryngology; and, a retinal imaging machine for ophthalmology.
Investing in minds
We’ve also recently attracted some of the world’s best and brightest minds through scholarships and fellowships, helping us advance cutting-edge research in neonatal care, trauma and brain injury, postoperative pain in children, kidney disease, and global health.
Supporting kids and their families
Thanks to our donors, our hospital offers unique programs to help sick children and their families, including pet and music therapy, parental presence during induction so parents can be with their child when they undergo general anesthesia before surgery, financial help for parents who must leave work to care for a sick child, and a variety of literacy initiatives.
