In celebration of Children’s Hospitals Week, Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations recently awarded Lowe’s Canada 2021 Partner of the Year.
It’s been hard to be a kid these past two years – and especially hard for children and families going through pain, uncertainty, and medical treatment in hospitals against the backdrop of COVID.
But thanks to Lowe’s Canada and their generous community of staff and customers, Canada’s children’s hospitals and their staff could continue to deliver for Canada’s kids.
COVID hit in 2020, just two weeks before the Lowe’s Canada spring campaign was about to launch – but that didn’t put them off. They rolled up their sleeves and provided a generous $300,000 corporate donation instead, helping children’s hospitals to continue to go the distance.
Then in 2021 they came back strong, rallying the enthusiasm of their employees and customers, and their passion and concern for children’s health and healthcare.
Lowe’s Canada raised a record $1.2 million in Canada in their spring point-of-sale campaign, which included a $100,000 corporate donation to make up for lost fundraising opportunities due to in-store COVID restrictions in Ontario and Quebec. They then raised an additional $360,000 for children’s hospitals in the fall, via a virtual vendor show.
Lowe’s Canada is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of their neighbours and in the communities they serve – and it shows. In 2021, their fundraising efforts took place in communities across Canada, enabling the funds raised locally to stay local, and addressing needs and priorities close to home for their employees and customers.
Lowe’s Canada has supported Canada’s children’s hospitals since 2018, has raised over $3 million during this wonderful partnership, and has engaged millions of Canadians from coast-to-coast.
With their help, we are changing the health of children, and changing the health of Canada.
