It’s time to take a stand against childhood cancer. You might know someone or have personally been affected by cancer in your childhood. According to SickKids, 1,400 children in Canada are diagnosed with cancer each year[1]. It’s an alarming reality for some. And a battle call for many. Are you ready?
Children affected need to be heard. Their stories of survival, with the five-year survival rate at 82 per cent, have been increasing over the past 15 years[2]. But we still have work to do. We’re not out of the clear just yet. Cancer is the most common cause of disease-related death in Canadian children after birth[3]. Let’s change this statistic.
This month, we’re sharing stories of children across our network that won their battle against cancer. But many more are still fighting. Let them know you stand beside them. Share their stories, donate to their cause, and together…if we change the health of children, we’ll change the health of Canada.
