The generous support of our corporate partners, their employees and customers are helping enable this vision. Last year, our partners successfully helped raise over $51 million in critical funding for 13 children’s hospitals that provide care for over 2 million Canadian children annually.

It’s All About Matters of the Heart This Month

When it comes to matters of the heart in the month of February, we’re not focused on candies and flowers. We’re talking about real hearts.

February is Heart Month, a time to bring attention to the importance of cardiovascular health, and what we can do to reduce our risk of cardiovascular disease.

Why is this relevant to children’s health? According to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation (BCCHF), one in every 100 babies are born with a heart defect each year.

This year’s BCCHF Children’s Miracle Network Champion Blayke is one of those 100 babies. Although initially being diagnosed with Turner Syndrome, she was later diagnosed with a heart defect known as coarctation of the aorta, a narrowing of the body’s largest artery. Blayke underwent heart surgery, which was a success. And days later, her family was able to see her loving personality shine again.

Together, our foundations across Canada are dedicated to changing the stats, because children are at the heart of everything we do.
